Personal Information

I was born in Mumbai.I have spent almost all my life here except the first three which were spent in the UK.My parents are Dr. K. J. Divakar and Mrs. Suman Divakar.

I have varied interests outside software.I love western classical and rock music.I mostly listen to Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Guns N' Roses, Simon and Garfunkel and Metallica.

I am a hardened sports addict.I watch everything from cricket, football, rugby, motor racing, baseball, american rules and just about everything thats remotely called sport. My sports icons include Diego Maradona, Michael Schumacher, Sachin Tendulkar, Randy Johnson and John Elway.

I see movies only occasionally. My favorites include the Star Wars trilogy, LA Confidential, Raiders of the Lost Ark, James Bond, Saving Private Ryan and Where Eagles Dare.My favorite actors include Harrison Ford, Russell Crowe, Richard Burton, Sean Connery and Clint Eastwood.

If I am not hooked up on the computer I watch TV. My current favorite TV series are Law and Order:Special Victims Unit, Star Trek, 3rd Rock from the Sun and The Practice. I also watch lots of BBC, CNN and CNBC.

I attended school at St. Thomas High School and they were obviously the best years of my life. I got to interact with people from all walks of life. A cent percent pass rate at the SSC Exams for a school whose population is 5000 students with more than 300 students in class 10 says a lot about the quality of teaching of that school.

I attained by Bachelors' degree in Engineering from D. J. Sanghvi College of Engineering, Bombay.I also had many good times here.I had the opportunity to fiddle with computers while at DJSCE and learnt a lot of stuff outside the curriculum during the four years I spent there.

I currently work as a Research Fellow at the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay.The working environment over there is second to none. I just love that place.

My friends with whom I generally spend most of my time are:
